Cookies

Cookies
and how you control them

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. Here is what we use them for.

What we use

  • Essential, which make the website work.
  • Statistics, which tell us which pages get read.
  • Third parties, for example an embedded map or video.

The chat

The chat in the bottom right corner does not set any cookies, but it stores your conversation locally in your browser, in what is called local storage and session storage. This is needed for the chat to remember what has been said while you use it. The data stays in your own browser, and you can clear it at any time by deleting your browsing data.

How to control them

You can delete and block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the necessary ones, parts of the website will stop working.

About this text

The text on this page is reproduced from energyfitness.no, retrieved 3 August 2026. If you are in any doubt, the version ENERGY publishes on its own domain is the one that applies. Any questions, take them up with us at hei@energyfitness.no.

In brief

What a cookie
actually is

Cookies are small text files stored on your device, whether that is a computer, tablet or phone, when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences over time.

They are used to improve the user experience, provide tailored content and gather statistics about how the site is used.

Four types of cookies

This is how cookies are usually grouped.

Essential

These are necessary for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to things you do, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block them or warn you about them, but then parts of the site may not work.

Functional

These provide improved functionality and personalisation, for example embedded videos or maps. They may be set by us or by third party providers, if such features are added. If you do not allow them, some of the features may not work properly.

Analytics

These help us understand how visitors use the site, by collecting and reporting information anonymously. They help us improve the site and the user experience.

Marketing

These track visitors across websites and collect information in order to deliver tailored marketing. They are used to measure the effect of ad campaigns and to show relevant ads based on your interests.

Third parties that set their own cookies

If ENERGY starts using third party tools, those tools set their own cookies. None of them are active on this website today.

  • Google Analytics, to analyse how our website is used.
  • Facebook Pixel, to measure the effect of ads and show relevant ads.
  • Payment providers, to process transactions.
  • Chat and customer service tools.
  • Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel require consent before they can be set. The site has no consent tool at present, so neither of them is in use.
  • These third parties may transfer information about your use of our website to their servers, which may be located outside the EU and the EEA.

Storage period
and privacy

How long a cookie is stored on your device depends on the type. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or until you delete them, while session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. The storage time for individual cookies varies from a few hours to several years, depending on the purpose.

You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge each have their own guides for this. Note that blocking certain cookies may affect how the website works.

Some cookies may collect personal data. Such information is processed in line with our privacy policy and applicable data protection law. See privacy and privacy and GDPR.
